DCSD Heat Protocol for Summer Camp
Heat Exhaustion is a very real thing and is taken seriously. We have a Med. Tent set up next to the field to deal with anything from a blister to more serious issues. We keep student forms in a binder in the tent along with a fully stocked first aid kit, Gatorade, water, fans, cooling cloths, etc. The students are on the field in the morning and in sectionals (inside) after lunch. They return to the field about 4:30pm and the temperature and humidity is monitored and recorded every thirty minutes. The band breaks for water and rest at the recommended frequency as dictated in the DCSD protocols.
Times and more info coming soon
For camp, please bring lunch, snacks, sunscreen, hat, comfortable shoes and blue 1 gallon water jug similar to the one found HERE.
