Getting Started with Cut Time

All Band students and Parents will have a Cut Time profile, and that's how we'll communicate with you and keep you up to date.

Here's how to get started:

STUDENTS: Check your e-mail for a welcome message and link from info@cuttime.net. All current band members will already have a profile created.

If you did not get an invitation e-mail, then go to https://cuttime.net/signin.cfm and try to find your account using the "forgot my password" and enter your email. A new invitation link will be sent to you.

If this doesn't work, we may not have a valid email address on record for you. Please email Mrs. Marin or Diana Kite to request access to your profile.

(Students, please do NOT create a new profile request, as this will create a duplicate of you in Cut Time.)

PARENTS: Please also check your e-mail for a welcome message and link from info@cuttime.net. If we already have your contact info, you should also have an invitation. If not, you may request access at https://cuttime.net/createProfile.cfm. Once you receive your confirmation/approval e-mail, please include as much info into your profile as possible, so we can keep in touch.

IMPORTANT: In order to receive text updates, you MUST add your mobile phone number AND carrier name (AT&T, Verizon, etc) in your profile.

Cut Time on your Mobile Device

Cut Time does not have a stand-alone app, but you can still access everything through your phone, with their mobile-responsive interface. Want to add an icon directly on your phone screen, so it feels like an app? Follow these steps:

On an iPhone/iPad:

1. Open Safari. Other browsers, such as Chrome, won’t work for this.

2. Go to https://cuttime.net/signin.cfm.

3. Tap the Share button at the bottom of the page.

(Looks like a rectangle with an upwards arrow through it.)

4. On the bottom row of icons, scroll over until you see Add to Home Screen and tap this.

5. On the next screen, you can confirm Cut Time as the icon's name on your home screen. You’ll also see the link's address, as well as the site’s image that becomes its “app” icon.

On an Android Phone/Device:

1. Open Chrome for Android.

2. Go to https://cuttime.net/signin.cfm.

3. Tap the menu button in the upper right corner (3 vertical dots), next to the URL bar.

(If you don't see this, you may need to drag down on your screen.)

4. Tap Add to Homescreen.

5. Confirm a name (Cut Time) for the shortcut, and click Add.

6. Click Add Automatically to add to any home screen, or drag to screen of your choice.

Now just tap the new app on your home screen, and it will open Cut Time in its own navigation window, independent of any other windows you have open in your browser.

***This is a great way to create your own “apps” for sites that don’t have them. It’s a lot better than having to open a browser and jump to a bookmark every time you want to visit a site. Both Chrome and Safari load the website like a “web app” when you tap the icon, so it will get its own entry in the app switcher and won’t have any browser interface getting in the way. ***
